As mentioned in the previous update, changes to aim shot got wrapped into a character’s more versatile ‘perception cone’. It works in tandem for what attacks your character can see to roll to dodge, based off your Grace virtue, and seeing what attacks to block, based off your Block study, and their range of tiles to see for aiming (based off Perception).

Holding down a button [SHIFT] allows you to rotate your character to a direction, their cone determining their focus of attention. Aiming buffs are applied automatically thereafter when just tapping through (waiting) turns [Z].

For example you might want to make every shot count if you’re running low on rounds — simply just delaying to the last turn can net a better shot.

Perception augments how wide the cone is, and a character moving tiles or re-rotating will disrupt any aim buff stacks you’ve accumulated while waiting.

Because character sprites are more fluid on the rotation front since they were like 4 directions, we don’t feel the need to have the perception cone remain on at all times during combat. You can kind of ballpark it from just the sprite direction, which conveniently also helped with enemy sight cones (and you can see those by hovering over them outside combat too). You can also just tap shift to verify the location of your cone without interrupting your aim buffs.

Selecting body parts is just designated to a button on the HUD again to toggle through.

It functions well without being clunky, and we’re happy with that result.

    Enhancements

Your friendly doctor, with the right supplies and character level, can give that measly flesh-prison of yours a tactical advantage.

A retina lens apparatus allows your character to get an aim buff quicker, reducing the time for turns to aim better from 3 turns to to 2.

Additionally, any weapon outfitted with a scope also reduces this turn count by 1. These are either found or if a scope is found can be added to any applicable weapon at a gunsmith shop.
